Lauren’s proficiency as a meteorologist extends to effectively utilizing external communication techniques to engage audiences, ensuring clarity and relatability in the delivery of weather forecasts. She specializes in many different areas of meteorology such as analyzing radar data, detecting severe weather, and forecasting. In addition, she has grasped the ability to tell the weather story by translating complex scientific jargon and concepts into something understandable and relatable to the public. Leveraging her Skywarn Spotter certification, she contributes to public safety and awareness, reflecting her dedication to empowering communities with critical as well as interesting weather information.

My Story
Lauren is a proud Texas Aggie meteorologist! She started her career during an internship at KBTX in College Station, Texas. Inspired by the former Chief, Shel Winkley, she took her first position as a Weekend Meteorologist and Multimedia Journalist at CBS7, the top-ranked news station in Odessa, Texas. The coverage area stretched from southeastern New Mexico to Big Bend National Park, allowing her to explore forecasting for many types of terrain.
After spending time in West Texas, she then moved to Denver, Colorado and joined the WeatherNation team. Lauren explained the scientific reasoning behind the national weather story to over 30 million viewers across the country. There she mastered intricate meteorological skills including forecasting for every type of weather event from tornadoes to blizzards and hurricanes.
Since then, she has been freelancing for many different media outlets, including KTVT, which is a station ranked as the fourth largest market in the United States. Lauren thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys delivering time-sensitive and often live-saving information to viewers across the country. She hopes to inspire and educate the audience through web articles, social media posts, as well as broadcasts!
